Three Decades on the Front Lines
With over three decades of service in law enforcement, Lieutenant Hudson Cutno, Jr., Ph.D. began his career with the New Orleans Police Department in 1992. Throughout his tenure, he served in a wide range of roles — including street patrol, investigations, and traffic fatality investigations — accumulating over 24 years of supervisory experience as a sergeant, lieutenant, and assistant commander of the Police Academy.
A lifelong educator, Dr. Cutno spent nine years as a full-time academy instructor and ten years as an adjunct professor at Upper Iowa University, teaching emergency management, supervision, and public safety courses to the next generation of law enforcement professionals.
He holds a B.A. in Latin American Studies and Homeland Security from Tulane University, an M.S. in Public Safety and Emergency Management from Capella University, an M.Phil. in Criminal Justice from Walden University, and a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice — Leadership and Management from Walden University.
Dr. Cutno's passion for training and curriculum development led to the founding of Frontline Training Academy, where he continues to empower the next generation of public safety leaders in emotional intelligence, communication, accountability, wellness, and leadership effectiveness.
