Hudson began his career in law enforcement in 1992 when he joined the New Orleans Police Department. He is currently serving his 33rd year as a Lieutenant. Hudson began his career in law enforcement in 1992 when he joined the New Orleans Police Department. He is currently serving his 33rd year as a Lieutenant. Over the years, he has gained extensive experience in various divisions, including street patrol, patrol supervision, property and persons investigations, traffic and traffic fatality investigations, and as the former Assistant Commander of the New Orleans Police Academy.
He is a former administrator and full-time instructor at the academy for nine years.
Hudson earned his bachelor's degree from Tulane University in 2010, majoring in Latin American Studies and Homeland Security. He completed his master's at Capella University in 2012, specializing in Public Safety and Emergency Management.
Hudson also received a master's in philosophy in criminal justice from Walden University in February 2025 and is currently a Doctoral candidate in criminal justice, leadership, and management at Walden University.
From 2010 to 2020, Hudson was an adjunct professor at Upper Iowa University’s New Orleans campus. Over ten years, he taught courses such as PA 320 Political and Policy Basis of Emergency Management, PA 346 Disaster Response and Recovery, BA 449 Business and Industrial Crisis Management, PA 332 Emergency Preparedness and Planning, PA 306 Principles of Emergency Management, Senior Projects, BA 362 Supervision, and PA 414 Principles and Practice of Hazard Mitigation.
Hudson taught various courses, including Disaster Management, Use of Force, Burglary Investigation, Robbery Investigations, Simulation Scenario Training, De-escalation, Human Performance, and Emotional Intelligence, and courses for supervisors at all levels. His ability to conduct training and design course curricula is well-documented by his tenure with both the New Orleans Police Academy and as an adjunct university professor.
Hudson is an innovator and visionary in education, as demonstrated by his ten-year work with Upper Iowa University and the police academy. The culmination of his professional career leads to the creation of Frontline Training Academy.
